Earthquake : Location of Survivors

Earthquake Search

Natural disasters such as floods, cyclones or earthquakes may render large numbers of people in need of assistance at any one time. Location of people trapped in rubble can be very difficult for emergency and rescue services.

The Searchlight Concept gets data into the hands of searchers, enabling search and rescue services to locate areas where people were located and to target initial searches based on an increased probability of excavating areas where survivors might be found:

Imagine this scenario, a large warehouse or shopping centre has been completely demolished in an earthquake.
How do you know where to start excavating? Searchlight could enable searchers to locate victims, possibly trapped in pockets within the rubble.

When infrastructure fails, new solutions are required - this is a fundamental aspect of the SearchLight approach to survivor location.
